Harbour Publishing and Nightwood Editions Authors at Word Vancouver

Posted: Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10:36am

Don't miss Harbour Publishing and Nightwood Edition's booth at this year's Word Vancouver, a national celebration of literacy and the written word. Come out to the Library Square and CBC Plaza in Vancouver on Sunday, September 29 from 11am-5pm. You'll find us at the Independent Publisher's Tent, and can take a look at our new fall titles, and enter raffles for free Harbour, Nightwood and Douglas & McIntyre Books!

Word Vancouver is a great chance to see some of Harbour and Nightwood's authors up close.

Roy Henry Vickers and Lucky Budd will be giving a storytelling and showing their magnificent, #1 bestselling book, Raven Brings the Light

There is sure to be some uncontrolloble laughter coming from the Canada Writes tent as Vancouver Sun theatre critic Mark Leiren-Young unabashedly gives us a behind-the-scenes look at one of the first productions he was involved in. He will read from his memoir Free Magic Secrets Revealed.

Gary Kent, author of the West Coast favourites, Fishing with Gubby and Gubby Builds a Boat (with illustrator Kim La Fave), will be as entertaining as always at Kid's Words in the Children's Library.

If you're looking for poetry, you won't want to miss two powerful, intensely personal readings: Russell Thornton will read from Birds, Metals, Stones & Rain at the Poetry in Transit launch, and Brad Cran, the former Poet Laureate of Vancouver, will read from Ink on Paper in the Poetry Tent.
