Zero-Mile Living in the Kootenays with Carolyn Herriot

Carolyn Herriot—an expert gardener, food activist, cook and seed producerwill be touring the Kootenays this September. Herriot is a devoted proponent of zero-mile living, and she shares her vast knowledge in her book, The Zero-Mile Diet, and its companion, The Zero-Mile Diet Cookbook, which is full of fantastic ideas for indulging in meals that use homegrown ingredients. On her tour, Herriot will be speaking about sustainable living and delicious food, and how the two go hand-in-hand. She will also be signing copies of her books, and will be available to answer any questions about gardening, preserving the harvest, and preparing recipes. She will be making stops at the following locations:

  • Kaslo: September 4 at 10:00am at St Andrews United Church (500-4th Street)

  • Sparwood:September 6 at 5:00pm at the Farmer's Market
