Dan Francis Receives Historical Award

Dan Francis was named a recipient of an Award of Merit from the Vancouver Historical Society on Arpil 11, 2010. Dan was recognized for "his significant contributions to the history of Vancouver and British Columbia through his prolific writing". The award was presented at the society's annual Incorporation Day Luncheon celebrating the creation of the City of Vancouver, April 6, 1886. Dan, who was the keynote speaker at the event, is the editor of the Encyclopedia of British Columbia, the author of Far West: The Story of British Columbia, and the co-author (with Gil Hewlett) of Operation Orca: Springer, Luna and the Struggle to Save West coast Killer Whales.
